Grade Levels:

K5 - 8th

Class Description:

CCS's own Joanne Justice facilitates this introduction to botany which includes fun and close encounter with plants. The curriculum begins with the purpose and stewardship of plants as recorded in the Bible. The anatomy, environment, challenges and survival of this third day creation is integrated with hands on experiments and “take home gardens”. Mrs. Justice has been preparing to facilitate this activity for several months, and is ready to provide an engaging, hands-on experience.

The students will learn, using recycled materials, to grow plants from seeds and cuttings. Additionally, students will learn hydroponics, build vertical gardens and create grow bag gardens.

CCS Garden Club aims to inspire children to be in awe of God’s third day creation, be stewards of the earth and ecology while building a passion for growing wholesome and healthy food.
