TESTIMONIALS

At CCS, I asked a lot of questions. I questioned theories, facts, actions, and motivations, and I struggled to find the answers that would lead me to “certainty.” The classical education system of memorization, analysis, and communication embodies, I think, this search for truth. The more I desired truth, the more I thirsted for God. While reason does not produce faith, Covenant showed me how a well-nourished faith can use reason to a) test its roots, b) strengthen Scriptural understanding, and c) illuminate applications. Covenant told me, “Okay, you’re a Christian. Great. Now, what do you believe? Why do you believe it? And how are you going to live in interaction with the world?”

At CCS, I was asked a lot of questions. I thank God for the tools Covenant gave me to seek after the answers, but I thank Him even more for the grace of knowing that I will not be satisfied by any answer that relies upon my own understanding. I thank Him for showing me that while certainty cannot be reached by reason alone, “faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.”

By the grace of God the staff at Covenant Christian School combined rigorous course schedules with a constant focus on the application of Scripture to daily life and work. It was one of the best times of my life and also one of the most difficult, yet the teachers found ways to develop and maintain personal relationships that made the experience fun as well.

My experience at CCS has been a highlight of every self-descriptive essay from undergraduate papers to my law school applications. But perhaps the greatest mark CCS has left is the confidence to declare love for my Heavenly Father, in all circumstances.
